SMILE ( Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) is a minimally invasive procedure where a laser creates a lenticule ( or disc shape) inside the cornea, which is removed through a tiny incision. This reshapes the cornea to optimise focus and sharpen a vision.

Visual recovery, in general, is fast, the majority of patients (~98%) seeing well enough to meet the legal requirement standard for driving the day after surgery. Patients can normally return to work and most usual activities within 24 hours following SMILE pro. Resuming most sporting activities within three to five days.
